Detroit, United States, 05, March 2016:
- Pro Home Improvement is a Michigan-based company with offices in
Ferndale and Northville. They're known for their high-quality roofing,
siding, insulation and guttering work. Once a year, the firm launches a
charitable campaign. Its name? The Pro Home Improvement Make-A-Wish Month.
This
year, March is the month where they run this campaign. So, what's it
all about? In a nutshell, Pro Home Improvement comes together with the
Make-A-Wish Foundation each year. The aim is to make one sick child's
wish come true.
How does the Make-A-Wish Month work?
In March 2016, Pro Home Improvement will be donating up to $200 from every sale they make that month. As one can imagine, that amounts to a lot of money!
Many children in Michigan sadly experience life-threatening medical conditions. The Make-A-Wish Foundation want to help those kids by enriching their lives. They do so with hope, strength and joy.
Pro Home Improvement is a roofing company that has a strong belief in that cause. Each year they team up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help make a sick child's wishes come true!
For March 2016, Pro Home Improvement will pledge a donation from each project. It's a worthy cause they wish to share with their customers.
Who is Make-A-Wish Michigan?
They are part of the wider Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Michigan chapter grants one wish a day for children with life-threatening conditions. They believe that giving kids a memorable experience can be a game-changer.
Make-A-Wish Michigan feels that wishes aren't just "nice things" to give to sick children. They believe each experience gives hope to those kids. And they feel they help to make the world a better place.
Make-a-Wish 2015: Eric’s Wish
Last year, Pro Home Improvement helped to make a young man named Eric's wish to come true. Eric suffers from eosinophilic esophagitis and many other medical conditions. He also has an eosinophilic granuloma bone tumor on his back.
As a result, Eric gets sick up to five times a day and can only get fed through a tube. All those obstacles make life hard and painful for Eric, and he finds it hard to fit in and socialize with others.
His mom and dad wanted to give him something to focus on other than his ill health. Eric's wish was to have a hideaway that he could call his own.
In 2015, Pro Home Improvement teamed up with Make-A-Wish Michigan to make that wish come true. They built him his very own treehouse and had an opening ceremony in late August of that year.
It was a welcome reprieve for Eric and his family. Plus, it meant that Eric could focus on something more positive in his life.
