About Imogen Heap:
Imogen Heap is a British eclectic, eccentric and innovative musician considered by some the epitome of a digital diva. Her talent spans from the craft of song writing to elaborate live multi-instrumental improvisations, building on a unique voice, classical training and unusual tech-saviness. Self produced, independent, engaged, she blurs the boundaries between pure art forms and creative entrepreneurship, and uses her knowledge of the web and social networking to communicate and collaborate with her loyal following in pioneering ways. She is an accomplished performer having toured the world with her albums – iMegaphone, Speak for Yourself, Details (produced/written with Guy Sigworth in their duo, Frou Frou), and the 2009 Ellipse earning her a Grammy and Ivor Novello award. Her graceful tunes such as signature track ‘Hide & Seek’ have populated movies and TV shows, accompany dance and theatre performances and more recently, Heap is being sampled by a whole new generation of young rappers and producers. Her latest album Sparks was released in 2014.
About Christopher Ian Smith (Director)
In his early career Chris was a member of the audiovisual collective ADDICTIVE TV as a DJ, VJ, maker of experimental audiovisual films and the TV Series Mixmasters.
He then spent over 10 years in the digital advertising space as a Creative Director, working on brands such as O2, PlayStation, Guinness (and some far less glamorous ones). He founded and organises the future filmmaking symposium EMERGE which is part the East End and Cork Film Festivals.
Now he Directs (and sometimes Produces) documentary and elevated genre films. His work often features an exploration of the strange and uncanny, the relationship between characters and the environments they live in, and the impact of technological development on our psyche.
Current films in production are the feature-length documentary NEW TOWN UTOPIA and the improvised drama-thriller SULPHUR. www.citizensmith.net / @cismith
